This section of the website contains all the music available on this site that is not part of a lesson series such as the First Steps in Piano series. So far this includes only music for solo piano but I plan to add more as time goes by, including music for piano duet and music for piano and other instruments. Below is a list a list of music available so far.
Twelve parts in 3 volumes (with a 4th volume planned) containing 192 progressive solo piano pieces for early beginners to early advanced players. This collection takes students through a carefully graded series of steps designed to promote fluid reading and comfortable playing. Click here for more information and to hear the music.
A collaboration between klavieronin and artist Satoko Noguchi, Sanpo Melodies consists of 12 watercolour paintings set to music for solo piano. The 12 settings cycle through a year from springtime to wintertime. The work was created during the coronavirus pandemic and represents a desire to return to normal life. A collection of solo piano studies modelled after Carl Czerny's 125 Exercises in Passage Playing, Op. 261. These studies are a sort of homage to Czerny, whose contribution to piano playing is undeniable. It was also born from my desire for a more modern version of what Czerny was doing back in the 1800s. There are 5 books planned in this series, each with 25 studies. For now, only the first book is available. Click here for more information and to hear the music.
A chorale and nine musical fragments for solo piano composed in 2017 for my father who passed away from cancer that same year. These pieces are meditations on my experience of learning of my fathers diagnosis and subsequent realisation of his inevitable departure. Click here for more information and to hear the music.
